FIFA 17

A recent FIFA 17 ad hinted at the use of the Frostbite gaming engine, but stopped short of revealing exactly how the engine would shake up the FIFA experience. The latest trailer does just that by introducing FIFA 17: The Journey, an all-new game mode that puts players in the boots of up-and-coming football sensation, Alex Hunter.

Navigating the unique story arc, players will follow the trials and tribulations that Hunter faces, as he joins a Premier League club and is subjected to on-pitch performances and backroom politics. Think of it as a role-playing game of sorts, mixed with the feverish sporting action that FIFA is known for. FIFA 17 is set to launch on September 27th (Asia) and 29th (Global), and will be available on Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4.

Battlefield 1

After years of treating gamers to the possibilities of modern warfare, Battlefield 1 goes retro this time, taking players back to World War 1, when old-school tanks, propeller planes and warships dominated the battleground. This new title is all set to be epic, with destructible terrain, dynamic weather conditions, and the ability to control mammoth weapons of war, such as an armored train, zeppelin and battleship. Battlefield 1 launches worldwide on October 21st for Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4.

Mass Effect Andromeda

Though this game is still a work-in-progress, the trailer does look promising, especially if you’ve been following the Mass Effect trilogy. Like FIFA 17, Mass Effect Andromeda will be powered by the Frostbite engine, and takes place in the Andromeda Galaxy. The sci-fi game is set in a time when humanity has to leave the Milky Way to find a new home, and this exploration into the deep reaches of space should prove fascinating. Mass Effect Andromeda arrives early 2017.

Star Wars

The Star Wars franchise is about to get a huge boost, for the next two years at least. Later this year, three additional expansion packs will be available for Star Wars: Battlefront. The Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes mobile game will also receive new features, and rounding up this year’s goodies is a five-year anniversary celebration of Star Wars: The Old Republic, where new content will be added.

For 2017, EA will be unveiling a new installment of Star Wars: Battlefront. Not much is known at the moment, but development is already underway. Lastly, 2018 will see a new Star Wars action adventure game, which follows an original narrative in the Star Wars universe.
