5 Tracks for This Week’s Grind: Britney Spears, Saux, brtrnd & More

Britney Spears is back and couldn’t be looking better. Check her out in her latest video below, along with a couple other tracks that have been on our playlists.

1) Britney Spears & Tinashe, “Slumber Party”

It’s Britney time, bitch, is the vibe that we get as soon as the music video to “Slumber Party” begins. The track itself is a re-worked version off Britney’s latest album, Glory, with an assist from a fellow mega-babe Tinashe. The video features the two engaging in some friendly girl-on-girl lingerie-clad action, and we’re sure fans couldn’t be happier. Britney’s transformation must have reached peak success, because the singer herself had to assure fans she wasn’t using a body double.

2) Saux, “Coast to Coast (ft. Sadie)”

Here’s the latest from Dutch producer Saux, with Sadie, an English singer on the vocals. Known for his summery electronic-infused production, this track encapsulates the playful, yet tense experience of meeting up with someone again after a while. The guitar riffs and jagged synths are what really makes the track shine, and we can’t wait to play this during our second first dates, if ever.

3) brtrnd, “No Doubt”

Montreal-based artist brtrnd has surely been making waves in the realm of SoundCloud, with his name popping up on our feed almost on the daily. We’re glad we decided to check his music out, because this track, repetitive though its beat may be, is great for a perk-me-up on a sleepy Tuesday with its sharp hip-hop delivery.

4) H.E.R, “Yeah I Said It (Remix)”

Previously featured here, we’ve been keeping H.E.R on our radar because we know she’ll be blowing up soon enough. Here’s another reason to fall deeper in love with her artistry, if you haven’t already. Remixing one of our favorite tracks from Rihanna, H.E.R has given it the signature R&B/Soul touch, with heavier vocals and a different spin at the end.

5) Sabrina Claudio, “Confidently Lost”

If you’re in the mood for a different sort of R&B, check out 20-year-old singer Sabrina Claudio. With a distinct style (think NAO, but more mysterious) the singer surrenders to the unknown, with lyrics like “I’m alone but not lonely” and “I am confidently lost, I don’t need you to find me.”
