501 Jeans were introduced nearly 150 years ago. The latest episode of the 501 Documentary, aired on May 20, in celebration of Levi’s 501 Day, explores the 501’s influence on music culture.

Solange, Snoop Dogg and Vince Staples, feature in the episode that explores the relationship between music and the 501 Jean. Interestingly, the relationship dates back to the 1950s, when rockabilly musicians would wear the jeans on stage.

We learn that the 501 Jean, first introduced as a simple, straight-cut blue denim jeans, was repurposed over time and became more than just an article of clothing.
