Air Jordan 1 OG “Chicago”

Air Jordan 1 OG “Chicago”

We go back in time to 1985 with this week’s Release of the Week: The Air Jordan 1 OG “Chicago”.

What is perhaps the most-anticipated shoe of the year will be released this weekend – the Air Jordan 1 OG “Varsity Red” aka “Chicago” makes its comeback as part of Jordan Brand’s 30th Anniversary. It makes perfect sense for the Jordan Brand to re-issue the shoe that started it all to celebrate its three decade long reign in the sneaker industry.

The Air Jordan 1 “Chicago” receives the “remastered” treatment and returns in its OG state. This also means the sneaker will feature the Nike Air logo and not the Jumpman logo. The original 1985 pair bore the Nike Air logo on its tongue and the only other time we saw it being re-issued was in 1994. In 2013, Jordan Brand released the Air Jordan 1 “Chicago” with a Jumpman logo embossed on the tongue and the heel of the shoe. To most, a shoe bearing the Jumpman logo versus the Nike logo doesn’t make a difference, but there are a handful of folks out there for whom this difference is everything. Without a doubt, the 21-year anticipation for the Air Jordan 1 OG “Chicago” is at an all-time high.

The Air Jordan 1 OG “Chicago” is set to drop at a retail price of US$160 on Saturday, May 30th.
