The Akira x Supreme capsule collection will drop sometime this month. Yes, that’s Akira, the 1988 Japanese adult animated sci-fi film.

According to Hypebeast, the exciting news was announced on live TV by Akira creator and screenwriter Katsuhiro Otomo. In addition, Instagram user amonnn777 uploaded a snippet of the Japanese interview onto Instagram, on October 1.

But this is not the first time Supreme has collaborated with an anime franchise. Sometime in 2015, the skate brand teamed up with Toshio Maeda, a prolific erotic manga artist to produce a NSFW capsule collection featuring Maeda’s original artworks.

The Akira x Supreme collection is said to drop sometime this month. We sure hope the collection includes Kaneda’s iconic pill jacket (seen in the image above), or perhaps even a Supreme branded motorcycle (image below)!

As always, keep an eye on Straatosphere for more information.
