Apple Imagines a World Without Smartphone Apps

What would you do if all the apps on your phone disappeared?

Apple kicks off its WWDC 2017 Keynote with a new video that humorously imagines a world without apps.

Smartphone apps are such an integral part of our lives. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to share our #foodporn pictures, take ridiculous duck face selfies, and find dates on Tinder.

To demonstrate how reliant we are on apps, Apple has released a new video called “Appocalypse” that imagines what life would be like if all our smartphone apps suddenly disappeared.

The three-minute-long video shows the world falling apart as apps disappear from iPhones and iPads around the world. Without an avenue to share selfies and perform virtual face swaps, the world eventually plunges into chaos.

Besides losing our ability to share information, humans would also have to visit a physical App store to find Tinder dates, buy music, and play Candy Crush.

This light-hearted video was screened by Apple to kick off its WWDC 2017 Keynote.
