Carhartt Celebrates Mother’s Day with Women Centred Campaign

Carhartt Inc. applauds women workers this Mother’s Day in its new campaign “All Hail the Carhartt Women”.

The one minute Carhartt ad pays homage to modern day women workers tackling various jobs such as farming and teaching.

According to Crain’s Detroit Business, the former workwear retailer began supplying women with coveralls from the 1940s.

Launched Monday, 8 May, the campaign features a number of industrious, entrepreneurial women beginning with Rosie the Riveter. For those unaware, Rosie the Riveter is a cultural American icon representing both the American women working in factories during World War II and a symbol of feminine capability. Other inspiring women featured in the short clip include local Detroit heroines such as farmer Mary Heffernan and artist Molly Manor.

To further tie the advertisement in with Mother’s Day, the short film is narrated by a child expressing their appreciation and love for their mothers. A definite tear-jerker.
