After assaulting the show’s producer, the days of Jeremy Clarkson’s reign as the face of the British automobile TV show Top Gear have come to an end. It has been announced that Chris Evans will take over as the new host for the next three years. By the way, this is Chris Evans, the lauded British broadcaster, former BBC Radio 2 DJ and car collector; not Captain America.

The newly minted Top Gear host said, “I’m thrilled, Top Gear is my favourite program of all time. Created by a host of brilliant minds who love cars and understand how to make the massively complicated come across as fun, devil may care and effortless. When in fact of course, it’s anything but and that’s the genius of Top Gear‘s global success.”
