Concepts x New Balance “City Rivalry” Pack

Fans of the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees may not be able to see eye to eye, but surely they can put their animosity¬†aside for the Concepts x New Balance “City Rivalry” Pack.

This upcoming Concepts x New Balance “City Rivalry” Pack proves that even a heated rivalry between two Major League Baseball teams can serve as inspiration for a neat set of collaborative sneakers.

The New York Yankees is represented by the New Balance 997, taking on a mint-colored suede upper with grey accents that pay homage to the Statue of Liberty. The insoles feature a Cracker Jack design, inspired by the caramel-coated popcorn and peanut snack commonly sold at baseball games.

On the other hand, the New Balance 998 embodies the heritage of the Boston Red Sox and Boston’s famous Yawkey Way street. This is done through rust red and dull green suede that occupies the front and rear halves of the sneaker upper respectively.

The Concepts x New Balance 997 “New York Yankees” is priced at US$240 and will be available on April 9th, while the 998 “Boston Red Sox” comes in at US$220 and will be up for grabs on April 16th. Both sneakers can be purchased at Concepts’ webstore.
