The Easyrider, a surfing tiki character, was developed by Jimbo, an artist from Santa Cruz, California, who was raised on eye popping graphics. His father, Jim Phillips, designed all the artwork for Santa Cruz Skateboards in the 70s and 80s and was the creator of the iconic “Screaming Hand” logo. At age 18, Jimbo began working for his father doing graphics for the skateboard industry through Santa Cruz Skateboards, creating arresting graphics not just for skateboards, but also for t-shirts, decals, and magazine ads.
