At the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige made an announcement that will have comic book fans screaming in delight for years to come. Showing off Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Feige unveiled nine superhero movies that will hit the silver screen from 2016 to 2019. They are, in chronological order:

There’s so much to digest from his announcement. For starters, Phase 3 will be the movie debut of superheroes such as Doctor Strange (likely to be played by Benedict Cumberbatch) and Black Panther (played by Chadwick Boseman). It also affirms the Civil War storyline and that crowd-favorite Tom Hiddleston will return for Thor: Ragnarok.

But the biggest takeaway is that Avengers: Infinity War, the climatic finale in Marvel’s series of superhero flicks, will be screened in two parts. This can only mean one thing: Thanos will be the ultimate pain-in-the-ass villain we’ve always hoped to see. Just check out his menacing face and the powerful Infinity Gauntlet in a shot from the teaser trailer:
