Runners can enjoy a spring in their step with the new adidas Ultra Boost running shoe, thanks to an improved energy return midsole and other useful features.
adidas takes a bold step forward with the unveiling of what it calls “the greatest running shoe ever”, the revolutionary adidas Ultra Boost. Said to provide a fully adaptable running experience, the adidas Ultra Boost has a host of features that could make it a forerunner in the market.
It trades the traditional EVA midsole in favor of Boost Foam, cushioning material that is made from as many as 3,000 energy capsules packed together. This is 20% more than the amount found in the adidas Energy Boost, and provides a plush ride with energy return to aid the runner in his/her next stride. Primeknit fabric forms the upper, giving runners a snug fit while allowing room for natural expansion of the foot.
Not forgetting the contact point between runner and road, adidas has implemented the Stretch Web outsole that adapts and stretches to every foot strike and movement. A new external heel counter construction frees the natural movement of the Achilles tendon, while the dual-density Torsion system embedded in the shoe’s base allows more independent movement between heel and forefoot for a stable, smooth and controlled run.
The adidas Ultra Boost running shoe retails for S$289 and will be available at adidas brand concept stores, online, IRUN (313@Somerset and Queensway Shopping Centre), Runners Edge (Kallang Wave) and Royal Sporting House (Great World City, Takashimaya and Tanglin Mall) from February 25th.
