When you’ve got 400 pairs of sneakers, you might, like NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, turn your garage into a sneaker storage space.
NFL player Colin Kaepernick is making an impact off the field with his enormous sneaker collection. The quarterback from San Francisco 49ers has so many sneakers, he’s even turned his garage into a closet in order to store them. A look at one of his recent posts on Instagram shows walls packed from top to toe with sneakers, so it’s hardly a grab-and-go affair for him when it comes to picking out a pair.
Kaepernick is signed with Nike, so it comes as no surprise that much of his sneaker stash has swoosh branding on them. As if that wasn’t obvious enough, the athlete even captioned his sneaker garage post with “I rock with Nike, all I see is checks!”, along with the hashtags #TakeYourPick, #Sneakerhead and #MakeYourGarageACloset.
In an interview with Haute Living, Kaepernick admits to having over 400 pairs of sneakers, and that his favorite pair is the Air Jordan 13 “He Got Game”, because the sneaker references one of his favorite movies of all time. Kaepernick even shows part of his collection in a video with ESPN, before bringing the camera crew on a sneaker shopping excursion.
