Nike Unveils New NBA Uniforms for 2017/18 Season

Professional basketball players helped Nike to create these new NBA uniforms.

Nike used a refined version of its Aeroswift basketball chassis to design the 2017/18 NBA uniforms.

Made from  a combination of Alpha Yarns and recycled polyester, these new uniforms wick sweat 30% faster than current uniforms.

Nike also reports that they help improve an athlete’s agility and range of motion, thanks to its new and improve fit.

“The mental advantage of a quality uniform is priceless,” said Kyrie Irving in a statement. “The fact that Nike listened to all of our feedback while developing the new NBA uniforms speaks volumes. I’m excited for the new fit and feel.”

Technology aside, the NBA will also be eliminating the “Home” and “Away” uniform designations. Instead, teams will have a choice of selecting one of four primary uniform “editions” to wear.

According to Nike, the first two editions of the uniforms will be unveiled by teams this summer, while the other two uniforms will be released in the coming months.
