Nike is Building an Environmentally Friendly Urban Playground in Moscow

Nike is currently working on an environmentally friendly structure this year.

Nike, Moscow’s Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture, and Design, and Kosmos Architects are currently developing an environmentally-friendly sports facility in Gorky Park, Moscow.

According to Archdaily, the key goal was to develop an environmentally-friendly park for athletes of all sporting interests to enjoy. As such, the park will have a street football court, a basketball court, an indoor training facility, and a running club hub.

Additional features include an interactive billboard that will feature video art, a “3D workout wall” for stretching, pull-ups, and workouts, as well as a lounge area for both the public and sports trainees to rest in.

The winning design is reportedly inspired by the Nike Air sneaker box – a concept presented by the building’s rectangular shape with each of the four sides hosting a different function. Construction begins sometime in 2017.
