Nike+ Running App Introduces Song Playlist Feature in Partnership with Spotify

The Nike+ Running app has introduced a new music playlist feature known as Pace Stations, which was developed in partnership with Spotify.

Pace Stations lets users input their desired pace and musical preference, and the app will generate a target BPM (beats per minute) and create a customized 100-song playlist from Spotify’s library of 30 million songs. There will be an audible cue when runners step in-beat to the prescribed songs from their personalized playlist.

Previously, users would have to switch over to Spotify Running to generate their playlist, and switch back to the Nike+ Running app to keep tabs on their progress. Pace Stations offers convenience by integrating both features under one app.

The Pace Stations premium feature is available only on iOS for now and only to Spotify Premium subscribers (those who pay US$9.99 per month). Nike+ Running app users are entitled to a seven-day free trial, with an additional 60 days if they enter their credit card details.
