“Seoul Station”, the Animated “Train to Busan” Prequel Promises Gore

Seoul Station has been dubbed the “spiritual prequel” to the popular South Korean film Train to Busan

Seoul Station, an animated horror film, promises Train to Busan fans gory scenes of zombies on trains.

The prequel to the gripping success that was Train to Busan follows the story of Hae-Sun (Shim Eun-Kyung), a runaway caught in the middle of a zombie chase while her father, Ryu (Seung-Ryong Ryu) and boyfriend, Ki Woong (Lee Jun) attempt to look for her.

Much like Train to BusanSeoul Station relies on familial drama and real-world social horrors (e.g. classism; the zombie infection stemmed from a homeless man, whom social workers refused to help). The animated film is also directed by Train to Busan director Yeon Sang-ho.

Seoul Station will be available on iTunes from Tuesday, May 30. The film will also be released on Blu-Ray from Saturday, June 10.
