This has been a long time coming. We’re not kidding, Twitter announced their plans for their character limit update nearly half a year ago.

With today’s update, the changes to the character limit have begun rolling out to some users. While the limit is still capped at 140 characters, any text that contains links and media attachments won’t be counted, enabling you to include various links at one go with enough characters left to express yourself.

We look forward for more changes from the social media platform. Here’s to hoping that the next one won’t be in 2017.
