5 Tracks for this Week’s Grind: Big Sean, Selena Gomez, iLoveMakonnen, GENER8TION + M.I.A

Tracks we can’t stop listening to no matter how hard we try. This week’s picks include music from Big Sean, Selena Gomez, iLoveMakonnen, and GENER8TION + M.I.A.

1) “One Man Can Change The World”, Big Sean feat. Kanye West, John Legend

Big Sean’s latest hit “One Man Can Change The World” is a touching tribute to his late grandmother, who broke through the ceilings of poverty, race and sex. The track also bolsters his #ItTakesOne Campaign on social media, which calls for fans to engage in random acts of kindness to make the world a better place. The touching video, shot entirely in black and white, features scenes from a re-enactment of Big Sean’s grandmother’s funeral and of a girl, who presumably represents a young version of grandma.

2) “Good For You”, Selena Gomez feat. A$AP Rocky

Close your eyes and imagine your bae whispering how she’s wearing your favorite dress and how the only thing she wants to do is look good for ya. This is exactly what this is all about, a sensual track touching the deepest ends of your imagination featuring A$AP Rocky who just released his latest album At.Long.Last.A$AP, which we recommend checking out.

3) “Super Chef”, iLoveMakonnen

Drake’s musical protege iLoveMakonnen’s voice is impossible to mistake. In “Super Chef, hard beats accompanied by a harmonic piano rhythm makes for a hypnotic track. The video features iLoveMakonnen in a Chelsea football club jersey, getting turnt in a kitchen.

4) “Champion”, Kehlani, G-Eazy, IAMSU! and Lil B

A dedication to Steph Curry’s championship and anyone feeling like a champ. Let this joint effort from Bay Area artists be this week’s anthem of greatness.

5) “The New International Sound Pt. II”, GENER8TION + M.I.A.

GENER8TION is a new project from Surkin, a French producer Surkin who roped M.I.A. in to provide vocals for “The New International Sound Pt. II”. This track is anthemic stuff, and if that’s not enough to motivate you to get through the week, hopefully the music video featuring about 36,000 young Chinese pugilists kicking serious butt, will.
