As Chinese New Year festivities draw closer, here are a couple of tunes to bust out while you’re on spring cleaning duty.
Being a pretty boy with a poppin’ setlist never hurt anybody, and that’s exactly who Dean is. Having worked with big names like Mila J and .Paak, Dean proves to be more than your cursory factory-made Korean pop star. This collaboration with Eric Bellinger is a banger, with R&B elements interspersed with all things that make a club track zing.
This fresh drop from Berlin-based IAMNOBODI is exactly what we need for this lull week. Chill out with this smooth release that contains a slick progression backed with jazz samples and a deft undercurrent of piano and bass.
Louis The Child is a rising artiste in the nu-disco community, creating remixes that are generating tons of love from fans and stars alike. “From Here” is a perfect balance of childlike playfulness and signature future bass elements. The intermittent chords and synth come together in a heady thrum that’s perfect for passing a summer’s day.
Ever since Drake dropped this remix on OVO Sound Radio, the community has been set abuzz, and there’s no wonder why, as the track features Nas’ remix of Future’s “March Madness”, blessing the verses with his bars and asserting his OG status in the industry.
Anderson Paak aka .Paak is truly someone to look out for. Recently signed to Dr. Dre’s label, he already has an impressive range of work, featuring in Dumbfoundead and Tokimonsta’s tracks, as well as providing a whopping six tracks in Straight Outta Compton. “Room In Here” is a mellow piece of work, with the piano carrying the main tune of the track, and an addictive hook on top of the mid-tempo to really amp up the vibes.

Tira Lee is Straatosphere’s resident aux cord heaux. She’s in-charge of pulling together nifty mixes each week to spread dope tracks and good vibes to the public. In her free time, she partakes in something distressingly referred to as academia and often experiences an existential crisis of sorts. She’s also paid to put pretty clothes on pretty people sometimes.
