Jordan brand continues to freshen up its storied line of sneakers, with the Air Jordan 1 High OG Defiant Tour Yellow due to drop in July. Thought to be a standalone colorway initially, the upcoming Air Jordan 1 is, in fact, part of the “Defiant” series that debuted with the “Couture” colorway in March. While the first release might have been a little flamboyant, the next “Tour Yellow” may suit longtime Jordan fans with its color-blocking and unique detailing. Check out how the sneakers look like on-feet below.
The Air Jordan 1 High OG Defiant Tour Yellow comes in a minimal black and white color-block and a leather finish. But vibrant colors are in the details, fleshing out the key elements of the silhouette. The yellow Swoosh branding is one such detail that’s hard to miss, lined with bright red stitching. However, the most fascinating feature is not what’s included, but what’s missing. The yellow Swoosh only appears on the medial side of the left pair, while the other three panels look rather unfinished with only the frayed red stitching outlining the signature Swoosh logo.
Sneakerheads will be anticipating bigger, better and bolder things from Jordan brand after Travis Scott’s recent unique Air Jordan 1 collaboration. But with unconventional iterations like this upcoming one, plus a wear-away Nike SB collab in the pipeline, they seem right on track.
