Airbnb Invites You to Spend a Night at the Great Barrier Reef

Make the Great Barrier Reef your temporary home and see the wondrous beauty hidden in this environmental treasure.

In partnership with Disney Pixar’s Finding Dory movie, Airbnb is letting four guests live in the coral garden that is the Great Barrier Reef.

One of the largest natural wonders on the planet, the Great Barrier Reef spans over 130,000 square miles and is home to millions of fish, 100 species of jellyfish and over 30 varieties of whales and dolphins.

Besides sleeping in the vast ocean, the itinerary includes a dive to explore the marine life and a tour of the private coral gardens with a marine biologist. Australian celebrity chef Neil Perry will also whip up meals made from sustainably-sourced local seafood and produce.

In the grand scheme of things, Airbnb is also taking this opportunity to help save the environment. It intends to plant mangroves, salt marsh and wetland plants for every guest visiting the region for the rest of the year, in a bid to reduce carbon and improve water quality going out to the seas and reef.
