Anti-Leather Campaign Takes it to the Next Level

PETA’s anti-leather campaign invites unsuspecting shoppers in Bangkok for the shock of their lives. Read on to find out more.

In its latest guerrilla campaign, PETA’s anti-leather campaign takes a grotesque turn to win over consumers who shop leatherware.

After the release of that gruesome video detailing the slaughter of crocodiles for bags last year, PETA follows up its anti-leather campaign with one titled “Behind the Leather”.

PETA set up a fake pop-up selling leather goods in Bangkok. Upon closer examination, each leather product contained elements that highlight the bloody slaughtering process that is essential to the production of the goods.

Hidden cameras were planted to capture customer reactions, which, needless to say were shock and horror.

Is “Behind the Leather” an effective campaign or did PETA cross the line? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
