Apple Issues Recall of Beats Pill XL Speaker

Concerns over a potential fire hazard have led Apple to recall the Beats Pill XL Speaker, a product of Dr. Dre that was first introduced in November 2013.

Apple has issued a voluntary recall of the Beats Pill XL speaker, due to the rare possibility that the rechargeable batteries in the Beats Pill XL may overheat and pose a fire safety risk. This recall does not affect any other Beats or Apple products.

Customers are advised to stop using the said product and to visit Apple Support for details on how to return the product to Apple and receive an electronic payment of S$430. The recall is expected to affect over 200,000 units in the United States, though it is not stated how many customers in Singapore will be affected.

Nonetheless, if you are using the Beats Pill XL speaker or know of someone who does, be a saint and spread the word about the recall.
