Apple launches the AirPods 2 – but it won’t come in black

Without much fanfare, Apple suddenly dropped the new AirPods 2.

New Apple Airpods 2

Just to be clear, the device looks exactly the same as its predecessor – with some upgrades, of course.

We hate to disappoint you, but the AirPods 2 will not be available in the rumored black colorway. Apple’s latest wireless headphones will, however, feature a new H1 chip that will connect to your devices two times faster, improve talk time by 50 percent, and, for the first time, enable the “Hey Siri” function.

Just like your iPhone, the AirPods 2 can also activate Siri simply with a “Hey Siri”. Talking to a phone might still seem odd to some, but with your headphones on you’ll be able to change songs, make calls, adjust the volume or find your way around on the go. If you’re an active person and a heavy AirPods user, all these functions will be perfect for your workouts. Better yet, check out this accessory from Earhoox which provides a secure and comfortable fit for worry-free use of Apple’s much-lauded headphones.

The AirPods 2 will be available in two options – one with a standard charging case while the other is a new Wireless Charging Case. Both cases carry enough charge for more than 24 hours of total listening time. But, the new Wireless Charging Case ups the convenience quotient – it can be charged wirelessly with any Qi-compatible chargers. If you’re not looking to upgrade your current AirPods, you can consider getting the new Wireless Charging Case instead. These latest options are now available to order on apple.com/sg, and the Apple Store app soon. Stocks will arrive at Apple Stores later this spring. Retail prices below.
