Verdy held a dinner over the weekend for his friends & family recipients of the Girl’s Don’t Cry x Nike SB Dunk Low. The exclusive iteration of the skate shoe will feature a slightly different make up from the upcoming retail version. A tonal Cream nubuck upper can be found with instead of the all-University Red upper. Girls Don’t Cry details can be found on the lateral side of the sneaker as well as on the tongue and the heel. There are supposedly only a 100 pairs of the Friends & Family iterations of the collaborative sneaker. Verdy also gave a personal touch by drawing on all the shoeboxes for the recipients.

Still no updates on a retail release but watch this space for updates.

If you have been keeping up with fashion Instagram in 2018, you must’ve come across Verdy’s brand. Girls Don’t Cry rose to cult popularity last year seemingly out of the blue. After designing graphics for the likes of Undercover and Bape, Verdy is primed to take 2019 by storm. And it looks like he has already begun his takeover.

The Japanese creative took to his Instagram to show off his Girls Don’t Cry x Nike SB Dunk Low which had a limited release last year at Hypefest. The look and feel of Verdy’s brand is completely translated on to the Nike SB Dunk Lows. Dressing the skateboard sneaker in a full red upper with white accents, we get the signature Girls Don’t Cry insignia embroidered on the heel of the sneaker along with the butterfly graphic on the tongue. The “Nike” branding on the heel tab also appears in the same font as the “Girls Don’t Cry” logo to round up the collaborative branding.

There has been no confirmed release details as yet but watch this space for details.
