HTM Goes All Out for Air Max Day 2016

The three-man powerhouse behind the Nike HTM team have each created a sneaker for Air Max Day.

Nike Air Max HTM

Fragment Design’s founder Hiroshi Fujiwara, Nike Vice President of Creative Concepts Tinker Hatfield, and Nike President and CEO Mark Parker, collectively known as HTM, have been put in the driving seat this Air Max Day. The result? Three different Air Max designs.

Hiroshi Fujiwara – Nike Air Max LD-Zero H

Inspired by the Nike Boston, the predecessor of the LD-1000, Hiroshi Fujiwara paired the Boston’s upper with a full-length Air Max unit from the Air Max 2014. The upper is mostly nylon, with suede on the heel and a leather back tab. Flywire technology loops around the eyelets, and the LD-Zero comes dressed in navy, with hits of white.

Tinker Hatfield – Nike Air Max 90 Ultra Superfly T

Known for his extensive work on the creation of the Air Max line, Tinker Hatfield took the Flyknit collar of the Mercurial Superfly and fused it to one of his earliest creations, the Air Max 90. The red, white and blue colors on this shoe were inspired by the country flags of the United States and France. Skin overlays on the quarter panel add texture to this futuristic piece of footwear.

Mark Parker – Nike Air Max BW Ultra M

The recently re-introduced Air Max BW receives an upgrade from Nike’s CEO. A jacquard woven upper lends a pixelated effect, while premium leather on the heel and tongue give it a luxurious look and feel. Reminiscent of cut and sew designs from running shoes in the 80s, the Air Max Ultra M is finished with Mark Parker’s signature embossed onto the heel flap.
