The shoe, an in-store exclusive, will be released in three colorways: olive flak/black-orange peel-sequoia, black/white and white/pure platinum.
The highlight feature is of course Nike’s latest breakthrough, adaptive lacing, a self-lacing system that is powered by an underfoot-lacing mechanism.
To celebrate the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 Singapore release, Nike will be holding customer trialing sessions of the sneaker from April 12-14, from 11am to 8pm daily, at the Dover Street Market Singapore store.
The Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 will retail at S$999 at Dover Street Market Singapore.
Famous wearers of the shoe include Cristiano Ronaldo, who teased fans with a picture of it in July last year.
The origins of the Nike HyperAdapt
The genesis of the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0, the brainchild of legendary Nike designer Tinker Hatfield and Senior Innovator Tiffany Beers, is the Nike Air Mag, which comes fitted with self-lacing “power laces”. It was famously auctioned off for US$52,000 in June 2017.
