Nike Unveils the NikeConnect App and Tech-Ready NBA Jerseys

Simply tap your smartphone on the NikeConnect tag on your NBA jersey

Nike has unveiled the new NikeConnect app and a range of smart, technology-ready NBA jerseys. This venture was launched as part of the brand’s new partnership with the NBA.

According to Nike, the app will allow users to “unlock real-time, personalized experiences activated through the combination of the jersey, a smartphone, and the NikeConnect app”.

Some of these experiences include customized content like pre-game arrival footage, highlight packages, as well as team and player statistics. In addition, fans will also be able to unlock recap videos and GIFs, which they can share externally with friends online.

Fans who tap-in regularly will also be rewarded with exclusive promotions. They include exclusive licensed products, game tickets, and access to the Spotify playlists of their favorite players.

To access these features, download and run NikeConnect on your smartphone, locate the NikeConnect logo (see above) on your jersey and tap your phone on it. Once detected, the app will launch automatically on your device.

The app is available for both Android and iOS devices. The Nike NBA Connected Jerseys will be launched on September 29 at nike.com/nba, Nike stores, and select retailers.
