Comme des Garçons fan, Octavius la Rosa, did an email interview with i-D about the incorporation of his CDG archive site, dot COMME, to fashion e-commerce platform, Farfetch.

Octavius first encountered Comme des Garçons on a trip to Tokyo when he was 18 years old, and has been smitten ever since.

The Melbourne-based fan has spent the past 10 years actively sourcing and curating a collection of Comme des Garçons pieces from all over the globe.

“When I dress up in Comme it makes me feel good. I think it’s as simple as that,” the collector wrote in response to an email interview with i-D.

Pretty soon, Octavius’ hobby of acquiring CDG pieces became a business. He started putting up some pieces on eBay. Next, he opened a store in Melbourne before finally launching an online store known as dot COMME.

On his obsession of collecting the brand’s garments, he said, “I don’t think I could function if I stopped collecting. There are so many memorable collections for me.”

Octavius’ extensive collection includes pieces that date all the way back to 1975, as well as a large number of pieces from the 80s. He names the Autumn/Winter 96 Flowering Clothes collection one of his favorites.

You can find pieces from Octavius’ collection for sale on Farfetch now.
