The Reebok Classic Fall/Winter 2017 campaign stars Jasper Tan, a film wunderkind from Singapore, whose originality and effortless sense of style makes him stand out.

Jasper Tan is a filmmaker who has directed videos for major Singapore musicians Gentle Bones and LIONCITYBOY. He gets out from behind the camera to star in the Reebok Classic Fall/Winter 2017 campaign.

It’s no surprise that Jasper Tan’s filmmaking revolves around music this much. The creative wunderkind first got into film when his friends started a band and needed someone to shoot their music videos.

“I agreed to do it because I was inspired by the director Tom Welsh, who has shot music videos for one of my favorite bands, While She Sleeps.”

Then he found himself hooked on film. “At first I used to try and recreate videos that I loved. I made a ton of videos and literally brought my camera everywhere. Eventually I stopped recreating and started executing concepts and ideas that came to my head instead. Crafting original work gave me a greater sense of satisfaction,” he says.

Jasper’s work is a good mix of the old and new. While his videos are heavy with 90s influences, he says, “growing up with technology means that Internet culture definitely informs the content of my work.”

When shooting, comfort is key for Jasper. “You never know what the weather can do to you when you’re out all day for a shoot,” he says.

What Jasper wears in the campaign is part of the Club C 85 SO Overbranded Pack that’s fronted by Machine Gun Kelly. The standard leather version is available in three colorways: red, white and black.

The Overbranded Club C, also fronted by Machine Gun Kelly, is the Reebok Classics Club C with premium upgrades. The silhouette also comes in a navy suede option for guys.

Another key style in the Fall/Winter ’17 line up is the ZOKU RUNNER, a new silhouette introduced this year. The shoe, featuring ultraknit technology, is Reebok’s first foray into knit material. Jasper sports the lightweight and comfortable ZOKU RUNNER ISM in black.

New in store is the contrasting camo pack, which is available in army green and navy.

A brighter colored alternative to the cushy ZOKU RUNNER sneaker is the ZOKU RUNNER ultraknit Day Glo Pack, which comes in neon yellow, pink and black.

The above styles are available in The Social Foot (Orchard Central, Suntec City), Royal Sporting House (JEM, Ngee Ann City and Tampines) and Limited Edt stores.
