Tupac was worried that his relationship with the Material Girl might hurt his public image.

He wrote, “For you to be seen with a black man wouldn’t in anyway jeopardize your career, if anything it would make you seem that much open and exciting.”
“But for me at least in my previous perception I felt due to my ‘image’ Iwould be letting down half of the people who made me what I thought I was.”
In addition, Tupac also referenced an interview that Madonna gave, in which she said, “I’m off to rehabilitate all the rappers and basketball players”.
He confessed that he was hurt by her words as he never known her to be with any other rapper, other than himself.
Despite being hurt, the rapper apologized for anything hurtful he might have said as he was just a “young man with limited experience with an extremely famous sex symbol”.
The letter can be read in its entirety here.
According to TMZ, the three-page letter will be auctioned off from July 19 to 28 at Gotta Have It Rock and Roll. It has a starting bid of US$100,000.
