The upcoming “Magritte” collection pays homage to the Surrealist paintings of one of Belgium’s famed artists.

In celebration of Opening Ceremony’s “Year in Belgium”, the brand has collaborated with Vans and the Magritte Foundation to release a footwear collection of “wearable art”. The project pays tribute to one of Belgium’s greatest artists, René Magritte, and comprises five Vans Authentic sneakers printed with reproductions of the artist’s Surrealist paintings, meant to make “everyday objects shriek aloud.” Aside from the canvas upper, each pair features a white vulcanized midsole with matching laces and eyelets.
The Vans x Opening Ceremony “Magritte” Collection is available for pre-order* till March 17th, at Opening Ceremony for US$135.
*Estimated delivery is May 15 – June 1, 2014.
