Adizero Adios Pro: Adidas’ most advance runner drops June 30

Adizero Adios Pro is said to be the brand’s fastest running shoe to date and has the technology to back up that claim.

The first colorway of the Adizero Adios Pro drops on June 30.

Adidas has lifted the veil on their “fastest running shoe”, the Adizero Adios Pro. The sneaker was co-developed with elite long-distance runners, Joyciline Jepkosgei and Rhonex Kipruto. They worked on the prototypes and helped to test and refine the early samples.

The Adizero Adios Pro runner features LightstrikePro technology in the midsole, the brand’s propriety foam that’s said to provide more impact protection and energy storage while remaining relatively light – the ideal combination for a long distancing runner.

To maximize responsiveness, Adidas has implemented a new technology called Energyrods. Five of these carbon fiber rods are placed within the midsole in alignment with the metatarsal bones of the foot. The Energyrods are paired with a carbon fiber plate under the ankle to stabilize the runner and provide maximum energy return.

To top it off, Adidas uses Celermesh on the upper. It’s a flexible, breathable and light mesh that provides the necessary lockdown and support needed for long-distance running.

This tech-packed runner racks up a retail price of US$200 (approx. S$282.46) and is expected to drop on June 30. No word yet as to whether or not these will be available in Singapore, but stay tuned for updates.
