This month, adidas Originals revives a classic: the OG Samba in black and white colorways, alongside an all-new women’s version of the sneaker dubbed the Samba Rose.
adidas Originals OG Samba
The Samba was first released in the 1950s, but has remained timeless and relevant in sports as well as in street style till today. In honor of its history, adidas Originals has created what it claims is a one-for-one reproduction of the original sneaker for this release.
The OG Samba is made with a full leather construction across its upper with contrast leather on the iconic 3-stripe mark and heel tab. The sneaker sits on top of a translucent gum midsole, completing the recreation of the Samba’s original design.
adidas Originals Samba Rose
The Samba Rose for women is a bold, contemporary take on the classic sneaker. It has been reimagined with a platform sole, but that’s not the only difference between the Rose and the OG. The Samba Rose has switched out the OG’s traditional material for a softer leather, while its iconic suede T-toe panel is replaced with decorative zig-zag stitching.
The OG Samba and Samba Rose retail at S$160 and S$170, respectively. The sneakers are now available at adidas and adidas Originals stores, Limited Edt, The Social Foot, as well as online at adidas.com.sg.
