The adidas Tubular SS16 line up comes under the spotlight at Paris Fashion Week in a unique fashion show that showcases the agility, style and comfort the shoe affords.
Fashion Weeks, especially those held in the major fashion cities, are commonly associated with the big fashion houses and less often with athletic brands, which is why adidas’ participation in Paris Fashion Week took us by surprise, in the best possible way.
Adidas previewed its Spring/Summer 2016 footwear line up consisting of the 90’s running inspired Nova, Doom, X and Defiant silhouettes in an energetic and effortless display put on by models, jumping from obstacle to obstacle, against a monochromatic set-up.
Each of the upcoming releases is an iteration of the lightweight and ever-evolving adidas Tubular Runner, which embodies the concept of urban athleticism and contemporary fashion.
What was presented was not just the future of the Tubular Runner, but in fact the future of adidas. Its design team headed by Nic Galway put together this show which, in our books, was a refreshing take on a fashion presentation. The fact that adidas tapped on Paris Fashion Week was also genius, and a testament to adidas’ progressiveness, which have become most evident in the past two years.
The brand has stayed true to its strong heritage by re-issuing classics like the Stan Smith and Superstar 80s, all this while continuing to revolutionize its presence in the athletic and streetwear scene with celebrity endorsements and incorporating its footwear and apparel with the latest technology.
