Upclose and Personal with the adidas Yeezy Boost 350

Here are our first impressions of the adidas Yeezy Boost 350, arguably one of this year’s biggest releases. Is it worth the wait and the money? Find out here.

SINGAPORE RELEASE UPDATE: Limited Edt has opened up the ballot for the Yeezy Boost 350 from now till Saturday, June 27th, 7pm sharp. The shoe is priced at S$329. Sizes run from US 7-12 (no half sizes available). More details here.

The adidas Yeezy Boost 350, Kanye West’s second collaborative sneaker release with adidas, is enjoying no less build up despite its markedly different appearance from the Yeezy Boost 750 that dropped back in February. The Yeezy Boost 350 comes in a monochromatic color scheme, with the upper made from adidas’ proprietary Primeknit woven fabric. This is complemented by the ribbed Boost sole and finished with black-white rope laces.

An additional touch that makes the shoe unique is the black suede patch found on the medial arch, with the adidas trefoil logo and the letters “YZY” subtly embossed on the left and right shoe. The canvas heel tab is horizontally positioned, a feature not often seen on shoes.

On the inside of the shoe, the heel portion has been lined with suede, providing the wearer with some degree of comfort. It also gives the shoe a premium feel. When worn, the shoes fit snugly without being too restrictive.

Counterfeits of the Yeezy Boost 350 have already surfaced on websites like eBay and Carousell, and they look pretty close to the real McCoy, so exercise caution if you’re buying from those sources.

Whether or not the shoe looks good is subjective, but these are pretty easy to match and will fly off the shelves when they drop. The adidas Yeezy Boost 350 is set to release worldwide on June 27th, at a retail price of US$200. Stay tuned with us as we bring you updates of the Singapore release.
