Aimé Leon Dore releases poster for their upcoming New Balance 827

Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 827 is a follow up to their immensely successful 990s.

Update: March 12, 11:45pm (Singapore time)
The Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 827 Abzorb will drop on March 13 at 11 am EST (11 pm, Singapore time). The drop happens exclusively at aimeleondore.com. Time to get your devices and credit cards ready, it’s happening very soon.

The color palette – a mix of retro-inspired colors – resembles the 990s.

Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance collabs are effectively reigniting sneakerheads’ love for the dad shoe brand. Their immensely successful 990 V2 and V5 used a luscious mix of hand-stitched leather and suede to create a sneaker that looks and feels incredible. Now they are back at it again, teasing an upcoming Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 827.

ALD’s posters have a clear formula – grandparents in killer fits and heading to the shops.

The first hint at the collaboration is a poster they posted on Instagram. As per ALD tradition, we see sweet grandparents rocking the sneakers. With a combination of sweatpants, sweaters and coats, topped off with the Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 827, grandma and grandpa look ready to swagger down to the shops. They stand above a new tagline for the sneaker – “Runners aren’t normal’.

For this round of the collaboration, the 827 is the sneaker of choice – a retro sneaker known for its muted colorways juxtaposed with contrasting pops of color. Staying true to the heritage of the silhouette, the ALD x New Balance 827 comes in a mostly off-white color with small green and red accents dotted around the sneaker.

There have been no official images of the sneaker up close and no additional drop information about the sneaker yet. But going by prior drops, the sneaker is likely to be released on the ALD website. Stay tuned for more updates.
