This year, Nike is giving the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Japan” a retro release, but with some minor changes.

The 2001 release of the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Japan” held many firsts for Nike. It was the first Air Jordan 1 to not receive an OG colorway, the first-ever country exclusive Air Jordan and the first Air Jordan to come in a non-traditional shoe box – it was packaged in a silver briefcase. The Air Jordan 1 “Japan” dropped as a super limited pack alongside three other sneakers. Each sneaker received a production run of 3,000 pairs, making each one super exclusive. The version making its return in 2020 is the head-turning metallic silver “Tokyo” colorway.

The Air Jordan 1 High OG “Japan” will have a grey suede base with metallic silver accents on the toe box, Swoosh and heel cap. But what really stands out is the tongue tab. Instead of the Jumpman logo seen on the original, this 2020 release will receive an embroidered Nike Air logo – a clear sign that this sneaker has the OG high top silhouette.

At the moment, the sneaker is rumored to drop in July 2020 for US$170 (approx. S$246.29). Stay tuned for more updates on a local release.
