If it ain’t broke, go blue: Nike employed a similar design used on the Air Jordan 1 Turbo Green, a sneaker that was well received in 2019 and is today valued at US$575 a pair. The new design applies a blue twist on the colorway, creating the rippled effect of water in a pool.
Most of the Turbo Green’s design is carried over sans technical specifications on the midfoot panel. The other noticeable change is the switch from green to sky blue colors on the patchy suede panels.
Neo-vintage appeal: The combination of the “faded” suede panels and grey accents give this Air Jordan 1 a pre-distressed look, which will make it a hit among those who appreciate the vintage aesthetic.
Final note: The Air Jordan 1 Hyper Royal is destined to be just as beloved and coveted as the 2019 Turbo Green AJ1. Its combination of neo-vintage looks applied to the AJ1 is not only very wearable but is appealing to more than just die-hard sneakerheads. Just like many other AJ1s, these will likely receive a very limited release and we foresee them selling out in seconds.
