Jordan Brand dives into the 70s for this disco-ball inspired Air Jordan 1 Mid

Disco fever beckons with the Air Jordan 1 Mid Disco Ball rumored to drop in early 2020.

Jordan Brand will look to push the Air Jordan 1 Mid silhouette once again next year after a strong lineup of releases in 2019.

A thorough look at the Air Jordan 1 Mid Disco Ball was first leaked by @solebyjc in November but official images of the sneaker have now surfaced on social media courtesy of prominent leak account @US_11.

Hardcore fans of Jordan Brand often shy away from the mid-top iteration – citing the lower quality materials and the fact that it simply can’t be compared to the original high-top model. But in recent times, the dynamics have begun to shift with iconic colorways and plenty of collaboration releases just this year alone. Notable drops include the “Shattered Backboard” colorway and the “Fearless” pack featuring Clot’s tearaway rendition, and Melody Ehsani’s outlandish iteration that comes with a watch face.

But the next release set for 2020 is nothing short of attention-grabbing. The Air Jordan 1 Mid Disco Ball takes its name quite literally, with the entire sneaker covered in mirror grids reminiscent of shiny disco balls from the heyday of the 70s nightlife scene. The silver finishing continues on to the tongue tabs, with only the inner lining and tongue cover dressed in fabric. Jordan Brand has paid attention to the smallest details to encapsulate the vintage theme, including the purple insoles wrapped in a luxe velvet material.

Release details aren’t available at the moment, but you can expect the Air Jordan 1 Mid Disco Ball to drop in early 2020 on Nike.com
