The super clean Air Jordan 4 “Black Cat” to make a comeback in 2020

The Air Jordan 4 “Black Cat” first dropped in 2006, and quickly became a fan favorite.

The sneaker is one of the first non-OG Air Jordan to gain mass popularity due to its incredible attention to detail and clean colorway.

Early on, Michael Jordan was given the nickname “Black Cat” in reference to his swift movements and attack-first mentality on the court. This nickname eventually inspired the Air Jordan 4 “Black Cat” – a triple black take on the retro sneaker. The sneaker, which celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2019, first dropped in 2006 with the “Black Cat” colorway. It quickly became one of the most popular non-OG retro Jordans to ever be made.

It’s not hard to see why. The sneaker comes in a single shade of black. The uppers are made mostly from matte black nubuck, with shiny detailing on the top eyelets, midsoles, tongues, and midfoot cages. Even the Jordan Brand logo on the heel caps are black. This combination draws your eyes to the intricate details of Tinker Hatfield’s creation without having to be too flashy. For these reasons, this sneaker makes a perfect daily beater.
