2020 is the year of many Nike anniversaries. Besides the Air Max 90, the Air Jordan 5 is also celebrating its 35th birthday this year. To commemorate the milestone, Jordan Brand is releasing the Air Jordan 5 “Top 3”. The sneaker fuses three of the most popular Air Jordan 5 colorways into one – the Fire Red, Black Metallic and Grape colorways.
The Grape colorway gained popularity after Will Smith rocked them on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. The “Top 3” borrows the tongue, cage and midsection from this iconic colorway.
The uppers of the sneaker come wrapped in black suede from the Black Metallic colorway, with the “23” logo on the heel. The outsoles and midsoles are taken from the Fire Red colorway, which make them really stand out from the rest of the sneaker. As a little hidden gem for the wearer, the names of all three colorways are embroidered on a tab under the tongue.
At the moment, the Air Jordan 5 “Top 3” is rumored to drop on May 16 at a price of US$200 (approx. S$278.24). Stay tuned for updates on a Singapore release.
