Matthew William sticks to muted colorways of beige and black for his collaboration with the sportswear giant Nike. The collaboration features two separate designs, though they both sport similar snug, sock-like silhouette and come with removable Vibram soles. In the first design, the upper mainly comprises translucent panels surrounded by elastic mesh, while the second design features a more luxe leather material instead.
The other prominent difference has to do with the focal point of these kicks – the chunky removable Vibram soles, which are attached to the shoes by two straps near the ankle and toe box. The leather version comes with either a red-black or beige-black two-tone portable sole unit. However, the soles on the elastic mesh pairs are monotone – either black or beige. To complete these Alyx Nike sneakers, Matthew Williams adds his subtle touches to both designs by including his initials, “MMW”, on the straps as well as Alyx branding on the foxing.
There is no official release date for these pairs yet. Expect them to arrive at Nike stores and other select retailers later this year.
