Ambush has unveiled their new collaboration with Converse, and designer Yoon Ahn has taken the classic daily beater to whole new level. The collaboration marries two Converse models: the classic Chuck Taylor and the Pro Leather. She was inspired by the utilitarian nature of the Converse Extreme Cold Weather Boot from the ’50s, and toughened up her collaboration sneakers for all-weather and condition use.
The heightened Chuck Taylor comes with a much thicker midsole than usual, and is decked out in extra layers of rubber to retain the retro vibes of the iconic silhouette. The single tone “coconut milk” white colorway gives the sneaker a minimalist vibe. Extra matte detailing, gusseted tongues for insulation and white laces are all perfectly matched to the rest of the uppers and midsoles.
The Pro Leather has been reworked to exude a military vibe, with a completely blacked out colorway. Similar to the Chuck Taylor, the sneaker comes with a gusseted tongue and laces that color match the rubber upper of the sneaker. To remind us that it is a Converse sneaker, the shoe comes with a tonal 3D Converse Star Chevron logo across the lateral sides of the sneaker. Bright yellow “Ambush” text on the heels of the sneakers top off Yoon Anh’s design.
Thanks to the practical waterproofing and insulation, the Ambush x Converse collab sneakers would make the perfect winter boots. You can cop these sneakers on October 19 at converse.com and at selected Converse retailers.
