Collaborations have become such a norm these days that we can barely keep track of who’s working with whom. Seriously, there are a lot. Many collaborations find a way to stand out, be it by flipping a swoosh, slapping on a whole lot of color or even reimagining the silhouette itself. But BEAMS and Adidas are trying a minimalist approach to standing out.
Coming in the standard mesh-suede mix for the upper, the sneaker comes in a tonal black colorway. That’s it. No outstanding BEAMS branding on the upper, midsole or even insole. At first glance, it looks like the general release (GR) all-black Adidas Yung 1; however, there are some slight differences. And although the official colorway is “black/black-black”, the BEAMS x Adidas Yung 1 comes in a lighter, almost subdued shade of black. At the end of the day, the BEAMS x Adidas Yung 1 might just be an “If you know, you know” type of collaboration, but with the saturation of collabs these days, that might be a good thing.
No official release dates on the BEAMS x Adidas Yung 1 as of now, but watch this space for updates.
