In 2023, Bodega continued its impressive streak of collaborations, consistently expanding its list of partners. This time, the Boston-based retailer has teamed up with Asics once again, unveiling their latest project, the ‘After Hours’ Gel-NYC. This marks their fourth collaboration, following their spring-themed Gel-MC Plus from 2022.
For their most recent venture, they’ve chosen Asics’ latest model, the Gel-NYC, and transformed it into an embodiment of the darker aspects of their city. Although this silhouette is a recent addition from Kobe, it draws inspiration from past models like the Nimbus 3, Cumulus 16, and MC-Plus, resulting in a contemporary yet nostalgic design.
Bodega’s latest design channels an “After Hours” vibe with its moody upper half. Inspired by gritty textures like barbed wire and chain link fences, it features a dominant grey mesh with contrasting nappy and smooth suede. True to Bodega’s style, each pair includes extra laces to highlight different elements. The co-branding on the heel and sparkling Gel inserts complete the look.
