Known for their DIY vibe and 1-of-1 tees and boards, Carpet Company leaned into their fun, imperfection-embracing culture when designing their Dunk. The result is a sneaker that sports cute graphics on the “Pulse Royal” panels out of the box and will erode over time, unveiling bright yellow panels.
A rarity among Dunks: Carpet Company added a small design cue that is rarely seen on Nike Dunks – on the midfoot of the sneaker, a small grey suede panel is layered under the Swoosh. Though small, it references sneakers from the ‘70s and ‘80s like the Nike Blazer.
Bang on the pre-distressed trend, the sneaker appears to have a yellowed-out midsole and gum outsole.
Completing the sneaker is the embroidered logo on the heel, Carpet branding on the outsole and a sign-off on the heel counter of the sneaker which reads “BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE HABIBIS AT CARPET COMPANY.”
Final note: The Carpet Company Dunk is a super playful sneaker with an interesting design that unravels over time. If you cop these, you’ll have to rock them to appreciate their beauty over time.
