Casio G Shock Year of the Dog: Singapore Release Details

The Casio G Shock Year of the Dog watch draws inspiration from both Chinese and Japanese folklore.

The Casio G Shock Year of the Dog timepiece will be available on January 1.

The brand utilizes the Casio G-Shock DW-6900 as the canvas for its upcoming Chinese New Year themed watch.

The watch will come in a striking black/yellow colorway along with an image of a celestial dog emblazoned on its strap. Other finishing touches include several Chinese characters along with the number “2018” available on the black resin strap.

According to the press release, the watch takes inspiration from the Chinese deity Erlang Shen‘s companion and the Japanese Komainu a.k.a. lion dogs statues.

Aesthetics aside, the timepiece features a range of standard functions including shock and water resistance, stopwatch, a countdown timer, and an alarm.
