Chaos Theory, Singapore’s First Fully Professional Esports Team

Chaos Theory wants to revolutionize the esports landscape in Southeast Asia, starting with Singapore.

The Overwatch Team

Chaos Theory, founded by Drew Holt-Kentwell and Hai Ng, will offer full employment contracts to esports players. The arrangement is the first-of-its-kind in Singapore.

Besides an actual salary, other player benefits include CPF contributions (compulsory social security), medical healthcare, and coaching to allow players to reach their full potential.

Holt-Kentwell, former Head of Global Esports at Razer, is confident that his organization will help bring structure and benefits to budding esports teams in the region.

“The esports industry is exploding, and there is a huge talent pool here with untapped potential,” said Holt-Kentwell in a press statement. “Chaos Theory was set up to establish new professional standards for the industry, and change the way esports teams in SEA are seen and run.

“We want to equip esports professionals with the experience and skills that they need, to cultivate world-class players and show that a career in esports is viable.”
